Privacy and personal data

At ACT we take your privacy very seriously. In order to provide access to the service we must collect and store some personal information about you. ACT is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected and that it is GDPR compliant. By registering for an ACT online learning environment or e-Financing Framework for Resilient Growth, e-learning account, or by accessing the ACT online learning websites, you are agreeing to the following policy from the date of first registration or usage.

How we collect and use information

At the time of your signing up for our e-course “FinancingResilientGrowth” we may collect personally identifiable information (“PII”) such as your name and your contact information. You may log in on our e-course with an optional name and simply verify an email address provided through an emailed verification to log in and start learning from the e-course. The PII that we collect is to help provide the e-course services (such as to send you notifications of pending exercises, to remind you of pending Modules to complete the learning and to send you a completion certification. We will only send you emails about yoru work related to the e-course and nothing else.

​We do not share your email activity data with any third parties. Occasionally we will send you notifications for completing the learning but should you wish to opt out of these notifications, you can simply opt out of those emails by clicking on the unsubscribe option at the bottom of that email.

The information collected is only used to provide you access to the online course at Statistical information about usage of the site is also used to improve the site and services provided on the website. We may anonymise your data and aggregate it with data from other users to understand how people are using our websites and to evaluate our e-learning materials.

We only require a verified email address for creating your profile information at the time of creating your account. All the remaining profile information we request at the time of you creating your account is optional. As you use the site, information about courses, activities and resources you interact with, will also be stored and linked to your profile information.

How long is my data stored?

Your personal data is stored as long as you are enrolled in one or more online courses at Course data is deleted 6 months after the end date for each course and profile information will be anonymised when an account has not been accessed for 12 consecutive months.

Registration data

When you first register for your ACT e-learning account, we will collect personal information from you. We may also ask you for information when you report a problem to our helpdesk and may keep a record of any correspondence.

Communications and bulletins

When your complete ‘activities’ on the ACT LMS such as Quizes, Modules and completion of the learning program, we may contact you to verify participation and email you to confirm completion of the learning materials. If you should decide that you do not wish to receive such communications you may opt out of receipt of similar future emails by contacting us at

IP addresses

We may record your computer's IP address, operating system and browser type, for system administration purposes and to enable us to faciliate access to appropriate learning materials based on bandwidth. These data enable us to track bandwidth usage to allow for ease of learning material for you and is not used to identify you as an individual. Your data is held securely on our databases which are only available to authorised ACT personnel on a password protected basis and is not available to any other individual or party. Your information is protected by a firewall. We also use system and application logs to track all access. We review these logs periodically and investigate any anomalies or discrepancies.

Although all reasonable efforts will be taken to ensure security of personal data, it is not possible for the ACT to guarantee 100% data security.

Email security

Any email correspondence between you and the ACT will not be encrypted. Emails received by the ACT will be stored securely within our corporate firewall.
